Heat exchangers play an important role in many industrial and life applications, but some parts of them are susceptible to corrosion during use.
First of all, the heat exchange tube is one of the key parts that are susceptible to corrosion. Due to direct contact with the heat exchange medium and long-term exposure to a complex chemical environment, it is susceptible to erosion by various corrosive substances. Especially in some highly corrosive media, such as acid and alkali solutions, rust spots, thinning, or even perforation may gradually appear on the surface of the heat exchange tube.
The connection between the tube sheet and the heat exchange tube is also an area prone to corrosion. There may be tiny gaps in the welds or connection parts here, and corrosive media can easily penetrate and cause corrosion, which may cause the connection to be loose or even fail under long-term action.
The head and shell parts are also at risk of corrosion. They may be affected by the external environment, such as moisture in the air, corrosive gases, etc., or the penetration and erosion of the internal medium, resulting in surface corrosion, affecting the overall structural strength of the heat exchanger.
In addition, some seals and gaskets may also age and corrode due to long-term pressure and contact with the medium, thus affecting the sealing performance of the heat exchanger.
In order to reduce the corrosion of these parts of the heat exchanger, a series of measures need to be taken. For example, choose the right material and choose a material with strong corrosion resistance to make the heat exchanger according to the corrosiveness of the medium. Regular maintenance and inspection should be carried out to detect and deal with corrosion signs in time. Perform reasonable anti-corrosion treatment on the heat exchanger, such as coating protection.
