From the perspective of equipment structure, long-term operation may cause wear and corrosion of the internal structure of the separator. For example, the tower wall, tower plate or packing of the separator will be chemically attacked when it comes into contact with propane and propylene and possible impurities. Over time, this corrosion may change the internal shape and size of the equipment and affect the flow state of the fluid. If the tower plate is corroded and perforated or the packing is corroded and broken, it will disrupt the originally designed gas-liquid contact and separation mode, thereby reducing the separation efficiency.

Fluctuations in operating conditions also have a significant impact on performance stability. During long-term operation, operating parameters such as temperature, pressure, and flow rate are difficult to maintain in an ideal state. Unstable pressure may change the flow rate and flow direction of the gas, resulting in poor gas-liquid separation. The change in flow rate may exceed the design processing capacity of the separator, causing turbulence in the internal fluid.

In order to ensure the performance stability under long-term operation, regular maintenance and monitoring are essential. Regular inspection and replacement of key components of the separator, such as timely repair or replacement of corroded tower plates and packing. At the same time, an advanced monitoring system is installed to monitor parameters such as temperature, pressure and flow in real time, so that timely adjustments can be made once abnormal fluctuations occur. In addition, optimizing the operating process, improving the skill level of operators, and avoiding unstable equipment performance caused by operating errors are also important measures to maintain the long-term stable operation of Propane-Propylene (PP) Splitter.
